DIFFUSIX TECHNOLOGY: The scientifically designed perforations and crumple zones prevent the forces of teeth grinding and jaw clenching to relieve pain and reduce the likelihood of dental injury. The perforations oscillate on impact and carry those forces towards the crumple zones and away from your teeth.

The SOVA Night Guards are scientifically designed to fit cross the front 6-6 teeth when used on the upper jaw. This means that subsequent molars behind are not directly covered but importantly, receive indirection protection as well. The concept is that the 1.6mm-2.4mm (thickness depending on the selected SOVA Night Guard model) barrier that is between your front 6-6 teeth will also prevent the back molars from being able to come together or grinding. This enables the guard to be less intrusive in the mouth and more comfortable during sleep.

CUSTOM FIT: Simply place the SOVA 3D Night Guard in a bowl of hot water to start the custom-fit process at home. The SOVA guard will become pliable, so that you can easily mould the night guard to the exact custom fit for your teeth. The guard can be worn on the top teeth, bottom teeth or both (second guard required) to allow for individual preferences.

REMOULDABLE: Didn’t get the fit right the first time? Simply place the SOVA 3D back into hot water; it will return to its original preformed shape. The SOVA guards are remouldable up to 20 times to ensure an exact custom fit can be achieved.

DENTAL WARRANTY: Your teeth deserve an insurance policy as well, so each SOVA Night Guard comes with a 120 day durability warranty.

FITTING

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Wash your hands and the material with mild soap and water.

2. Heat water in a small glass bowl (hot to the touch but not boiling). Immerse the night guard in hot, but not boiling water until the material becomes soft and pliable (30-60 seconds). Once soft, use a non-plastic utensil to carefully lift your SOVA Night Guard out of the water.

3. DO NOT let the softened night guard fold on itself – the material will glue together, making it difficult to reshape.

4. Holding the night guard with both hands, carefully insert into your mouth. Make sure the back inner ridge does not fold in on itself.
Once the guard is in the proper position, close your lips over the guard and put your tongue onto the roof of your mouth. Bite down gently – do not make deep teeth marks.

5. Gently create suction by swallowing until the material has hardened to a snug, perfect fit. Keep the SOVA Night Guard in your mouth for 3-5 minutes to allow the shape to set. After the night guard is set, it should be snug enough that it won’t fall off your teeth when you open your mouth.

Did you mess up? Unhappy with your fit? Every SOVA guard is remoldable up to 20 times. Simply place your formed SOVA back in the hot water, let it soften and straighten out, and there you go!

FITTING WITH CHILDREN:

If your child has braces, use an adult sized guard and have their night guard fitted by their orthodontist
Watch the fitting video with your child
Allow ample time for fitting (we recommend two days before needed if possible)
Identify the bite pad on the guard, and practice aligning it with the teeth before softening the guard for the first time
The guard is formed by using gentle vacuum pressure (suction). Re-familiarize your child with the concept of suction; grab a straw and practice

Not comfortable for me

It shrinks too much after it sets, my teeth hurt after a night's sleep wearing the guard.

If the night guard is feeling too firm then we would recommend refitting the guard with less suction and also ensure that you allow the guard to completely set/cool down (approximately 3-5 minutes) in the mouth during the fitting before you remove it.

Finally, No more headaches, neck pain.

I was skeptical about this guard because it was hard not soft like i am used to. But I have purchased many soft guards from the dentist and online. They all work but I end up grinding through them in some areas/parts. I wake up with headaches and neck aches (very painful) for years. My dentist told me eight years ago that it was because I was grinding my teeth and have even chipped many teeth (Even Molars) because of it. So I got my first soft guard from them. It helped with my grinding but I was still having headaches and neck upper back issues. Eight years fast forward till now and many mouth guards later I read that soft mouthguards actually stimulate the chewing reflexes at night and cause you to grind more. So I decided to try this mouthguard last night and to my surprise slept through the whole night and woke this morning with no headache and no neck pains. I am completely confident this is because of this mouthguard. I am purchasing a second one as a spare in case I lose the first one. It was very easy to mold. I did redo it a few times because I made it a little too snug each time but after you put it in the water it goes back to its ORIGINAL shape each time so that really makes it easier when you are dipping it in the hot water again. I didn't have to redo so many times (4) but i wanted to make sure it was a perfect fit. I didn't puchase the flat one because i wanted to have an idea of the placement and the easier quicker fit. I purchased the one that is already preformed for my mouth. The best 2 tips i can give are:
1. Wait til the water is 150-170 degrees then placed my new guard (tooth surface down) on a metal slotted cooking utensil so it lays flat and can be lifted out of the water evenly without folding on itself.
2. After you put it in place and close your mouth over it DONT suck the air out too much or as its hardening it will become too tight on your teeth and gums. The first time I did it was really tight because I wanted it snug so it wouldn't fall out at night, the second time I did it less and slower and by the 4th I had barely removed any air when forming and just closed my mouth and slowly gently let my mouth fit around it. Also don't bite down to leave leave teeth impressions. Bite down gently. I did wear it for about 20 minutes til it was completely hardened and make sure it was comfortable. I knew it was perfect because after that amount of time I really couldn’t tell it was in.

I hope this review will help others. This isn't meant to take away business away from the soft guards but for me. It made sense. The soft guards stimulate a chewing need even in the middle of the night. Maybe the soft guards should be used for whitening trays for those that need them. I’m just explaining my experience over the last eight years where acetaminophen had become a necessity in my life. But not anymore thanks to this mouthguard. And lastly I am getting NO kickback from this company at all. I am just grateful that it has helped me and possibly anyone else that reads this review. For me it was finally an answer to our prayers for wisdom for my almost daily headaches/neck/upper back pains. I am purchasing my second one right now.

To stiff and harsh

When the guard sets on my teeth, it either constricts or tightens, so when I wear it overnight it either hurts or contributes to my teeth feeling like they have moved overnight.
